As many of you know, the Obama Administration announced a new initiative yesterday for helping troubled homeowners. Although details were uncertain, the basic plan is to provide payment reduction for the unemployed, principle reduction for delinquent loans that are upside down and refinancing programs for distressed mortgages. Being nearly 4 years into the mortgage meltdown, it’s time for the government to get it right. The government’s MakingHomeAffordable modification and refinance programs have been a disaster! Of the 3 to 4 million people who president Obama claimed would be helped at the onset of the program, less than 170,000 have actually been helped. Additionally, statistics out today tell us that about half have defaulted on the modification programs. It’s time for a more radical, creative and well thought out plan! Over the next several weeks I will be presenting a 5 point plan that can fix many of the problem and help both consumers and the economy alike. We will be launching a Facebook campaign in conjunction with this and tyr to stimulate a media blitz. If you care about the millions of hurting people out there today, as well as those trying hard to maintain good credit in difficult times, join me in this grass roots campaign! Stay tuned….
